Matt put a degree in history and secondary education from Idaho State University to use as a teacher, but after five years switched careers to work in the trades as a carpenter, obtaining his general contractor’s license and HERS II certification. At Basis, he puts much of his skillset to use by combining his expertises in communication and building knowledge in the production of due-diligence reporting. Matt finds great satisfaction in knowing that his property assessments and building recommendations improve the living conditions of entire communities. Out of the office, Matt spends time with his family and dogs, plays guitar, and does his own home-improvement projects.
